I was just at Peet's Coffee. In the corner there was a group of 3 younger people having a discussion about politics. Late 20s to early 30s, maybe? 2 men and one young lady. Dressed casually, all with iPads in their respective cases, propped up in front of them. As I waited for my coffee, I was eavesdropping on their conversation. It was mostly about how they cannot believe what politics has come to. However, when it got to this, which came out of the young lady's mouth, I had to walk as far away as I could: "I cannot believe what an inspiring President Barack Obama is." Inspiring? What does that even mean? What is he inspiring her to do? Quit her job, collect unemployment and hang out at Peet's all day?

With Newt gaining at the polls, it saddens me to learn it's just politics as usual. My fellow Americans, won't you wake up and realize he is not our best choice for a Constitutional leader? With Herman Cain's withdrawal, we need to focus our attention on Ron Paul to restore our framework as a whole and functioning society. To reexamine the Fed's role in our economy. To implement payroll tax cuts, for good, so America can get back to work, for good. To end the 4.5 trillion dollar gutting of Medicare, called Obamacare, so your health insurance bill will not go up. To once and for all bring an end to the Department of Education's role in keeping our children from getting the education they so greatly deserve, so we can once again become a leading country in math and science. 

I can continue for awhile, but my fellow Americans, I call on you now to take the time to learn more about who you are supporting and just what, specifically, they will do for YOU. Not just who speaks the best on issues. What are his/her plans for our future? It is up to us, "We The People," to get our country back on track. We can't leave it up to Washington anymore. Traditionally they're at about 18%...Remember, we Democrats succeeded in balancing the budget in the 1990s where, incidentally, we created 23 million new jobs...but when we did that, we had 20 to 21% revenue to GDP." He is so far off it is sad. First of all, the GDP is whacked out of proportion now (14.6 trillion now to the 2.7 trillion in 1992, what Kerry is referring to), so there are no tax increases that will create enough revenue to bring revenue from the current 15% (average) to the necessary 18%. The problem in this country is SPENDING. It is not that we don't generate enough revenue. WE DO. $2.15 trillion a year in revenue by the American taxpayers. We spend $3.5 trillion. HOW CAN THAT MATH WORK? Even if you are to raise taxes on the wealthiest Americans, you will not create an additional 1.35 trillion in revenue, JUST TO CLOSE THE SPENDING GAP. THEN WHAT?

As I read through the various news websites this morning, trying to decide which political news story is the most corrupt, nothing compares to the Penn State Child Abuse scandal. Is the culture of college sports so horribly dysfunctional, that it would allow the sexual abuse of young boys to go on all in the name of "winning?"
